Footballers and Other Indian Athletes Using New Treatment for Sports injuries

According to Dr Anant Joshi the Knees are especially subjected to use and abuse in sports like football. There is usually cumulative injury to the linings of the joints. Many cricketers and football players especially had career ending injuries due to these accidents. This torn ligaments occurs beacuse of repetitive injuries in the same area or a direct hit to the shoulders or knees. A decade ago, there was nothing to protect athletes after such injuries but now there seems to be a permanent solution.  Most recently Ankit Parashar can play again, thanks to stem cell therapy that helped stop pain in his knee joint. The state cricket team wicket keeper and a batsman, was only 21 when he had to hang up his boots following an acute injury to his left knee. He would not have been able to make a progress just like many other sportsmen with similar disease, if he was not treated with stem cells.
